COMMUNITY SERVICE
Our School-wide Learning Expectations are very important for our students. As Global Ambassadors we would like the students to:
- Demonstrate responsible participation, cultural awareness, compassion and respect for others
- Build bridges through multilingual and multi-cultural experiences, and function as open-minded community contributors
- Strive to be ethical and respectful of the natural environment
- Develop a personal sense of and commitment to community service
As a school community we provide opportunities school-wide and within the grade level curriculum where the students can follow the above descriptors.
The Kirivorn School in Cambodia:
Information about and on how Nishimachi initially sponsored and built Kirivorn School can be found here. Since 2001, students and parents organized various events and activities to raise funds to support the school. We are committed for the upkeep and development of the Kirivorn school with interaction from "American Assistance for Cambodia."
Other projects:
In addition to the support to the Kirivorn School, students initiate community service projects such as promotion of and/or fund-raising for various NPO/NGO organizations which include: Refugees International Japan, CARE Japan, WWF, Make-A-Wish Japan, Malaria No More, Enzaro Dream Library, Hands on Tokyo, and many more.
Here are some highlighted community service projects and activities from the past.
