GUEST SPEAKER - Tom Cochran

On Tuesday, October 17, Tom Cochran, an alumnus (Class of '92) came to visit us and talk about his experiences since leaving Nishimachi. Since he was young, he loved using computers, which later led him to working for the White House and managing their digital platforms! His working life did not directly lead him into technology but by making the most of his opportunities he now enjoys his job so much that he doesn't feel like he is going to work. He gave us a lot of advice, such as, "In order to work in any important job we should all learn the skills of writing and speaking in front of people." He also mentioned, that in order to be successful, we should always be curious with everything we do, and use social media to interact with friends and families in a positive way. One of the middle school students asked, "Do you still keep in contact with the students from NIS?" He answered with a big smile, "Yes I do. I use social media, and messaging, to talk with them!" Once a viking, always a viking! Thank you for visiting our school, and welcome back!
