Helping Your Child to Become Global or International

Developing students who are "Global Ambassadors" and "international" is one of the main aims of this school. As a staff, we spend considerable time talking, planning and thinking about this.

Big organisations like UNESCO, the Asia Society and Udutopia have done important work on what parents can do at home to help their children to become more global and more international. There are ten big ideas that you as parents can think about, consider and promote with your children at home to support them to become more global and more international.

The ten big ideas are.........

#1-Self Belief

Our future can be determined by what we believe about our own self

#2- Valuing Others and Valuing Difference

Our true character is shown by how we treat all other people

#3- Balance

Without balance and enjoyment, life lacks meaning

#4- Caring for our planet

The Earth is home to all of us

#5- Inquiry

An open, inquiring mind leads to contentment and life-long learning

#6- Healthy Body, Healthy Mind

Our life's potential is enhanced by our physical and mental well-being

#7- Reading

Reading is a key to learning and creativity

#8- Being Responsible and Making Good Choices

Our lives are determined by the choices we make

#9-The Importance of Modelling

Your children follow your lead

#10- Reflection

Being reflective allows us to make better choices next time.
