2nd Annual Grade 9 Service Trip to Cambodia

2nd Annual Grade 9 Service Trip to Cambodia
Service Learning in Cambodia

In December, accompanied by our MS principal and three MS teachers, our Grade 9 students embarked on this memorable trip. The experience was deeply meaningful to our students and gave each of them a personal connection to the Kirivorn School, which Nishimachi has supported for many years. They also visited historical sites and spent time at the Bright Futures Orphanage.

"It was amazing to see the children study with so few resources and with such a wonderful attitude to learning. Being able to share happiness without speaking their language was special to me."

"I learned how though the world is and how we take things for granted. Coming to Cambodia, I felt the reality of what it is like in developing countries, and how the rich have so much power. I also learned of the happiness that comes from teaching someone."

"I have seen, smelled, tasted and experienced so many different things in Cambodia. This experience has helped me realize  how fortunate I am."

Mr. Sinkora was able to capture the beautiful and meaningful experience our students had on this trip through his photography. If you are on campus, take a moment to view the display and soak in the beautiful story the photograph display tells.
